Making your own wedding stationery gives you ultimate control over the design of your stationery, will delight your guests and will be a talking point from the moment your wedding invitations are received.
Take inspiration from something you have already chosen for the wedding, for example, the bridesmaids' dresses or wedding flowers and use this as a starting point.
The invitation is usually the first piece to be designed and completed - you may want a square, tall or gatefold invitation. This will determine the outline of your invitation design - always consider the font you are going to use at the design stage (there are so many lovely ones available) as the font you choose makes such a difference to the overall 'look' of the invitation.

We are very proud to offer a huge selection of beautiful craft and wedding embellishments. When we developed our craft shop we wanted to specialize in the highest quality products for customers who are making their own wedding stationery and those customers simply requiring lovely embellishments for all their craft projects.
We've selected our embellishments carefully for their colours and quality and also ensured they coordinate beautifully with our greeting card blanks and envelopes.
Hearts, flowers, sparkling beads and diamantes, butterflies, ribbons and bows .. ..so lovely for so many projects but also relevant and useful for wedding stationers and individuals making their own or their friend's stationery.

We have a motto .. .. ..start with the envelope or the presentation box! Or even more organized still .. .. .. .start with the outer you are posting your wedding invitations or your greeting cards in!
It can be so disappointing to find a lovely greeting card blank, create a beautiful piece of wedding stationery and then find the nearest envelope size you can get is far too large or a disappointingly tight squeeze.
At The Handcrafted Card Company we have always ensured that when you purchase our greeting card and invitation card blanks you know that the envelopes we sell will be appropriate for the board size - roomy enough to allow for an embellishment or two but not remotely too big. We advise which envelope will be suitable for which board size in our product descriptions.
Our presentation boxes for your wedding invitations add the 'wow' factor. They can be mailed in their own right or tied with sumptuous ribbons for a real impact and handed to your guests.
If you do not want envelopes; scroll postal boxes are an effective and dramatic way to present scroll invitations, and our gorgeous metallic bubble mailers will delight any recipient.

There are so many beautiful products on the market now we have tried to select the most beautiful, classic papers, and the best and most appropriately coloured and themed papers for customers wanting to make their own wedding stationery.
Mulberry papers, vellums, beautifully embroidered papers, papers with crinkles; papers with sparkle, decoratively printed papers, papers with marbling .. .we've got the lot!
As printing and papermaking technology advances the opportunities to use vellum and more unusual papers successfully for invitation inserts, greeting card overlays and scrapbooking projects become greater and greater.
No decorative paper is sold in packs of more than a few sheets; some papers can be purchased in single sheets allowing you the flexibility to view a variety of products before purchasing in greater quantity. Also, sometimes, one sheet is all that is required!

Ribbons are so popular and so beautiful that no craft shop should be without them! To minimise the potential problems of too many suppliers with unexpected colour changes or discontinued stock we have decided to showcase the ribbons from just two companies we consider very reliable both in supply and quality, one of which, 'Beresfords', is local to us.
We aim to offer different widths in the same style and colour of ribbons and to have a comprehensive stock of satins and organzas. Our ribbons and cords are sold by the roll but we do offer a sample service. If you have a particular colour requirement that we don't stock, please feel free to contact us and we will do our best to source it for you.

Where to start .. ..we think it's all essential!
We've tried to focus on the different needs you have when approaching a craft project or making your own wedding stationery - there's nothing more frustrating in the middle of a project than realizing you have not got the correct type of glue for the job or you're missing an essential craft tool.
We have a superb section of tools, everything from tweezers to heat tools, craft knives to embossing tools. We always try to offer practical advice and the products frequently have excellent 'user' guides.
A whole department dedicated to glues and adhesives will ensure you are well equipped with the correct type of adhesive for your craft or wedding stationery project.
Look no further if you require beautiful pens for general use, calligraphy or for embossed text. Also we stock a wide variety of wire (which is so useful in both a practical and decorative way), also punches, stamps, and inks all carefully chosen for their relevance to weddings, romance and decorative greeting card projects.
